We all know the ocean is full of salt. In fact, for every 1 ltr of seawater, there are around 35 grams of salts dissolved in it. Have you wondered how penguins consume such salty water?

Penguins have an in-built filter in their throat. It is almond-shaped glands (a type of lateral nasal gland) beneath the skin above their eyes that help them filter sodium chloride (Salt) from the bloodstream.

The salt drips down their beak, the penguins make a quick sneeze, and they are able to shake it off.
